Green concrete with ground granulated blast-furnace slag ...
This paper studies the physical properties and hydration of green concrete with ground granulated blast-furnace slag (GGBS), EAF reducing slag (EAFRS) and desulfurization gypsum (DG, a by-product during the removal of sulfur dioxide from exhaust flue gases of fossil-fuel power plants) as cementitious materials.

Ground Granulated Blast Furnace (GGBF) Slag Used in ...
Blast furnace slag is nonreactive in a high alkali environment, such as concrete and soils. Blast furnace slag concrete can be reliably pumped when the slag is supplied to the ready-mix production in a saturated condition. Use of the cementatious properties of ground granulated blast furnace (GGBF) slag was reported as early as 1774.

Comparing Properties of Concrete Containing Electric Arc ...
A comparative assessment of the mechanical properties of concrete containing electric arc furnace (EAF) oxidizing slag and granulated blast furnace (GBF) slag was performed. The goal was to investigate the effects of the substitution of EAF oxidizing slag and GBF slag for cement, in order to examine the possibility of using EAF oxidizing slag ...

D.Faruq et al (2017) the Ground-granulated blast furnace slag is pozzolanic materials that can be utilized to produce highly durable concrete composites. Ground granulated blast furnace slag is known to produce a high strength concrete and is used in two different ways as a cement replacement, in order to reduce the cement content [8].

This paper studies the mechanical properties and hydration of green concrete which is made from ground granulated blast-furnace slag (GGBS), desulfurization gypsum (DG) and electric arc furnace reducing slag (EAFRS) as cementitious materials. The green concrete with a water to cementitious materials ratio of 0.32 yields a compressive strength over 50 MPa at 28 days.

Electric arc furnace granulated slag for sustainable concrete
Granulated blast furnace slag (GBS) is the most important steel industry by-product. The production is almost 0.23 tons of slag for each ton of cast iron and 0.1 ÷ 0.2 tons for each ton of steel . According to EUROSLAG data, the production of granulated blast furnace slag was 23 million tons in 2012. The huge amount of EAF granulated slag ...
